This is where it started. In 1985 a neighbour showed Damon a black marble coffee table base that turned out to be paint, and he spent the next 22 years in Arizona developing his own finishes, recording each recipe, and working with designers and architects on commercial and residential hand painted work.

The range covers bold glazed colour on walls, stone and granite reproduced on columns and whole walls, and wood grain painted onto surfaces that are not wood. On the Big Island that has meant restoring water damaged koa columns with wood graining, and finishing a set of damaged kitchen cabinets into dark grained wood.

Captivating textures and patterns can create a tranquil sanctuary or make a bold design statement, in high quality materials chosen to stand the test of time.

It also means finishes nobody is supposed to notice. On one estate every outlet cover was faux finished to match the wall behind it: grass cloth wallpaper duplicated, coconut wood grain on recessed lighting, granite and natural stone matched, so they vanish.
